AUS-MEAT is seeking an experienced and organised HSEQ Manager to lead and drive our Health, Safety, Setting, and Quality (HSEQ) function across the organisation. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll play a key role in driving WHS, compliance, governance, and risk management process and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation. In this role, you will:
- Maintain and administer the quality management systems in line with ISO, JAS-ANZ and GFSI accreditation standards.
- Lead and enhance HSEQ systems, processes, committees, and reporting.
- Drive the ongoing development and improvement of workplace safety, psychosocial and wellbeing initiatives for a 50:50 remote/office-based workforce across Australia and New Zealand.
- Lead and support incident investigations and reporting, committee schedules and documentation, communication and onboarding.
- Ensure policies, procedures, registers and other compliance documentation remain compliant and fit for purpose.
- Provide technical support on relevant legislative and standard updates or requirement changes.
- Support senior management to ensure governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with Human Resources.
- Coach and support leaders on HSEQ best practice.
- Coordinate internal and external audits with all relevant stakeholders, including prep, communication, and facility bookings.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated experience in a HSEQ Manager role, ideally from a food safety environment or similar regulated industry.
- A minimum of Diploma in Work, Health & Safety, and/or Environment, and/or Quality.
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards, Australian WHS, Environmental and Quality legislation and standards.
- Internal audit or workplace incident investigation qualification (desirable).
- Highly organised.
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks and audit processes.
- Experience managing quality systems and certification compliance processes.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.
- Ability to influence, coach and support leaders and employees at all levels.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
