Subiaco

About us

We are a disability support service provider based in the inner city, supporting people with disability to live the lives they choose. Our people are central to supporting that work, and this role sits at the heart of how we recruit, support, develop and protect them.

We offer a 9-day fortnight, a parking bay, flexibility for family commitments, phone and laptop provided, 5 weeks’ annual leave, 13 weeks’ long service leave after 7 years, together with numerous other health and wellbeing perks. We are open to considering part time options for the right candidate.

About the role

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Human Resources and Industrial Relations Co-ordinator provides specialist HR and IR advice and support across our organisation, our Consumers and their families.

You will work collaboratively alongside another Human Resources and Industrial Relations Co-ordinator, sharing the workload, dividing portfolios and covering for one another, so you will have a peer at your own level to think matters through with rather than carrying complex issues on your own.

This is a hands-on generalist role that also comes with a small team. You will be the person managers turn to when something difficult lands on their desk.

If you enjoy variety, want your industrial relations skills genuinely used rather than filed away, and take satisfaction in getting a process right, this role will suit you.

What you’ll be doing

- Partnering with managers and co-ordinators on performance management, misconduct, grievances and disciplinary processes, and leading or supporting workplace investigations
- Interpreting and applying awards, enterprise agreements, contracts of employment,

legislation and policy — and translating them into clear, practical advice for staff, Consumers and families
- Supervising the Onboarding Concierge and Training Administration Officer, and overseeing onboarding, credentialing, mandatory training and ongoing compliance
- Supporting recruitment and contracting, and keeping contracts, job descriptions, policies and HR documents current and compliant
- Supporting injury management and workers compensation claims
- Supporting the General Counsel on complex industrial matters, including enterprise bargaining and matters before the Fair Work Commission, Fair Work Ombudsman and WA Industrial Relations Commission

A full will be provided to shortlisted candidates.

What you’ll bring

- Tertiary qualifications in human resource management and industrial relations, law, or a similar commerce discipline
- Demonstrated experience in a similar HR/IR role within a medium to large sized enterprise
- Sound working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, SCHAD’s award and enterprise agreements, and the confidence to interpret and apply them.
- Enterprise bargaining experience, whether leading or supporting a negotiation, would be highly regarded
- Familiarity with the WA state industrial relations system, and the ability to work across both the state and national systems,

would also be highly regarded
- Experience conducting or supporting workplace investigations and performance management processes
- Experience supervising, coaching or developing others (desirable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a personable and friendly style
- Demonstrated experience interacting with a wide variety of people
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, sensitive matters and tight timeframes
- Sound attention to detail and accuracy
- Discretion, resilience and sound judgement when handling confidential employee, Consumer and organisational information
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- A NDIS Worker Screening Check - this is a risk assessed role (if you do not currently hold a Check, we can provide the forms for you to obtain one before the role commences)
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module

Join our team If you enjoy collaborating with a diverse team and have a passion for providing friendly, accurate and timely advice and support, then we want you in our team.

For your application, please submit your resume/CV and a cover letter outlining your interest in the role.

If you have any questions, please email [email protected] with the subject line: HR-IR Co-ordinator application.

We welcome applications from people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Note: Applications will only be considered from candidates who have the right to work in Australia / New Zealand without restriction or sponsorship.
