About the role
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension.
The PBC Implementation Officer is responsible for supporting Wangkatja Tjungula Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (WTAC) to implement its responsibilities as a Prescribed Body Corporate and to support the effective administration, coordination and delivery of native title, heritage, cultural governance and community-related matters. The role acts as a central support point between the WTAC Board, Members, staff, consultants, government agencies, proponents and other stakeholders. The position assists with implementing Board decisions, coordinating projects and meetings, maintaining records, supporting compliance obligations and ensuring that activities are undertaken in a culturally appropriate, organised and accountable manner.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of WTAC's native title responsibilities and agreement obligations
- Support the coordination and tracking of actions arising from native title matters, agreements, heritage processes, consultations and stakeholder meetings
- Maintain agreement action registers, obligation trackers, project records, correspondence files and reporting schedules
- Assist with monitoring key dates, deliverables, compliance requirements, consultation periods and reporting obligations under relevant agreements
- Liaise with staff, consultants, proponents, government agencies and other stakeholders to support the timely progression of agreement-related actions
- Prepare and maintain records of agreement implementation activities, including meeting notes, action lists, correspondence, briefing papers and status updates
- Assist with coordinating activities relating to native title rights and interests, cultural heritage protection and Member engagement
- Support the administration of heritage surveys, cultural advice processes, site visits, fieldwork logistics and related documentation
- Act as a professional and respectful point of contact for WTAC Members, Directors, staff, consultants, proponents, government departments and service providers
- Maintain accurate digital and physical records in accordance with WTAC procedures, confidentiality requirements and positive governance practice
About you
- Ability to work collaboratively with WTAC Directors, staff, Members, consultants and service providers
- Capacity to carry out duties in a professional, ethical and culturally respectful manner
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive governance, cultural, personal or commercial information
- Willingness to follow WTAC policies, procedures, workplace health and safety requirements and lawful directions
- Ability to handle cultural information sensitively, securely and in accordance with WTAC protocols and confidentiality requirements
- Capacity to maintain respectful working relationships with Elders, senior cultural knowledge holders, community members and external stakeholders
