Finance Brokers Union Australia (FBUA)

Melbourne

Company Description The Finance Brokers Union Australia (FBUA) is the peak body for Preventative Governance in the finance broking profession, focused on building a resilient and professionally secure industry. Guided by a democratic Constitution, FBUA promotes accountability, transparency, and independence for its members while rejecting privately controlled regulatory power. The organisation protects brokers through a Member Bill of Rights, ensuring culturally safe reporting pathways, procedural fairness, and safeguards against arbitrary accreditation decisions.

Using evidence-based Policy Briefs, FBUA collaborates with government and regulators to address systemic flaws in the broker distribution chain and strengthen professional independence. Over a 10-year mission, FBUA aims to replace opaque, reactive compliance with proactive, supportive governance that ensures no broker faces professional challenges alone.

Role Description The Inaugural National Vice President will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across FBUA’s national activities, working closely with the National President, Board, and key stakeholders. This full-time, on-site role in Melbourne, VIC includes shaping and implementing organisational strategy, supporting governance processes, and advancing FBUA’s Preventative Governance mandate. Day-to-day responsibilities involve leading national initiatives, coordinating policy development and advocacy efforts, and representing FBUA in meetings with brokers,

regulators, government, and industry partners.

The role also includes overseeing member engagement programs, guiding communications that promote FBUA’s mission, and contributing to organisational development, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.

The Inaugural National Vice

President will play a central role in building FBUA’s national profile and ensuring alignment between strategic vision and operational execution.
