About the role:
As an Insights Analyst in the Corporate Analytics team, you will play a key role in stabilising and enhancing our end-to-end data pipeline. Working with large, complex datasets, your initial focus will be on hands-on problem solving - wrangling messy data, troubleshooting data products, and working with the team to build reliable, standardised reporting. As the team establishes solid data foundations and drives operational efficiencies, your role will expand into partnering with business users toward self-service and delivering strategic growth recommendations over time.
This is a hybrid role (2 days in the office per week) that can be done from Brisbane or Melbourne.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data Product Operations: Manage the daily health of our data reporting suite, acting as the primary point of contact for ad hoc queries, troubleshooting reporting anomalies,
and investigating data issues as they arise.
- Strategic Growth Initiatives: Collaborate closely with senior analysts and the Corporate Analytics Manager to execute strategic projects outcomes designed to accelerate business growth.
- Data Capability & Self-Service: Drive organisational data literacy by translating complex data and insights into self-service data products and enhanced reporting solutions for key stakeholders.
- Data Engineering Collaboration: Partner with analytics engineers to guarantee data availability, integrity, and real-time accuracy across reporting pipelines.
- Data Governance & Quality Control: Support data validation and quality frameworks tailored to the LMG business model and the broader finance aggregation industry.
- Process Improvement: Standardise data quality metrics, monitoring protocols, and reporting procedures to foster continuous improvement.
- Professional Development: Maintain a strong focus on self-improvement across technical analytics, business acumen, and data enrichment methodologies.
Skill and experience required:
- Experience: At least two years in a high-performing analytics team, preferably with exposure to the finance or mortgage industry.
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Technology, or a quantitative discipline.
- Technical Skills:
Strong experience in SQL and proven experience with Cloud-based Technologies and Databases (GCP experience is advantageous). DBT experience is advantageous, as is experience with Tableau or other business intelligence platforms.
- Analytical Mindset: Curious and outcome-driven, with a knack for getting to the crux of a problem. Skilled at uncovering core business needs, defining clear metrics for success, and understanding end-user workflows to build data products that drive real adoption.
- Communication: Confidence in working with stakeholders to gather requirements and present data solutions clearly
Our benefits -
- Flexibility & Balance: Hybrid work (min. 2 office days per week, including a team anchor day), 6 additional ‘Me’ leave days, flexible public holiday swaps, and options to purchase additional annual leave.
- Family & Wellbeing: 16 weeks paid parental leave (plus superannuation support), paid fertility treatment leave, 12 days personal leave, and access to the Sonder wellbeing app.
- Growth & Development: Dedicated paid study leave and L&D; programs for each stage of your career
- Community: Participation in the Loan Market Group Foundation (with donation matching) and a paid volunteer day.
