About the Role

We are a boutique public practice accounting firm working with small and medium-sized businesses across South East Queensland, providing taxation, accounting and business advisory services. We're looking for an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our team on a permanent part-time basis, working three days per week from anywhere in Australia.

This is a hands-on compliance role focused on producing accurate, high-quality accounting and tax work.

Your work will primarily include:

- Preparing annual financial statements
- Preparing income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Preparing BAS and IAS
- Completing supporting workpapers and reconciliations
- Preparing jobs to a high standard, ready for review
- Working primarily in Xero and other cloud-based systems

You'll be trusted to manage your workload independently and work efficiently, while having direct access to the Principal whenever you need technical guidance or support.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:
- 3+ years' Australian public practice experience
- Strong experience preparing financial statements and income tax returns
- Good knowledge of BAS, GST and general Australian tax compliance




- Confidence using Xero and cloud-based accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, review-ready work
- The ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote environment
- Good written communication and organisational skills

CA/CPA qualification or studies are desirable but not essential. Previous remote working experience and Xero certification will also be highly regarded.
