Intermediate Tax Accountant

About the Role

This opportunity is ideal for an Intermediate Tax Accountant with Australian public practice experience who is ready to further develop their technical skills, take ownership of client relationships and progress their career within a supportive and growing firm.

Working closely with clients and the wider accounting team, you will prepare individual tax returns, provide practical tax advice and assist clients with a range of taxation matters, particularly in relation to property.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparing and lodging individual tax returns accurately and efficiently
- Managing a portfolio of clients and building strong ongoing relationships
- Conducting client discovery calls and understanding individual tax requirements
- Providing advice on property-related taxation matters, including:
- Principal Place of Residence (PPR)

- Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
- Interest deductibility
- Providing practical and compliant tax advice to achieve strong client outcomes
- Liaising directly with clients and explaining taxation concepts clearly
- Collaborating with the wider team to deliver a high standard of service

About You To be successful, you will have:
- 2+ years' experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm
- Experience preparing Australian individual income tax returns
- Robust understanding of Australian taxation legislation
- Exposure to property taxation, including CGT and interest deductibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence dealing directly with clients
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and a high-volume workload
- A proactive, client-focused approach and genuine desire to develop your career
