As part of the Couch Drop-in Centre team, you’ll play a key role in fostering belonging and wellbeing—offering not just a service, but a safe and supportive home away from home.

About the role

As an International Student Engagement Worker this is your opportunity to create a warm, inclusive space where international students feel seen, supported, and connected. You'll be a trusted point of contact for those facing challenges, offering a listening ear and practical support.

Reporting to the Corps Officer and Senior Operations manager this is a Max-term role until the end of June 2027, offering part-time hours (16 hours a week) located in Melbourne, Victoria, working Monday to Thursday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS LEVEL 2

How you will make an impact

- Create a welcoming and vibrant space where international students can connect, feel safe, and build lasting memories through engaging activities, both on- and off-site.
- Be a compassionate point of support,



helping students navigate challenges by connecting them with essential services and fostering a positive Melbourne experience.
- Lead with heart by supporting volunteers, ensuring they feel valued, informed, and empowered to contribute meaningfully each night.
- Keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, from setting up meals to maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment that reflects care and professionalism.
- Champion safety and integrity, upholding high standards in health, privacy, and record-keeping to protect and respect every individual who walks through the door.

What you will bring

- A Tertiary qualification in Community Services and/or an equivalent is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in Community Services work is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience dealing with International Students experience is highly desired.
- A Victoria Employee Working with Children’s Check
- A National Police Record Check is required.
- A current Victorian Drivers Licence is preferred
- All compulsory training modules are completed and up to date.
