An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a high-profile private equity fund in a critical role sitting at the intersection of investments, investor relations and fundraising.
Based in Melbourne and working closely with the Head of Investor Relations, this individual will act as the operational and execution backbone of the global IR function – managing key LP relationships, driving fundraising activity and acting as the connective tissue between investors and the investment team.
This is not a traditional relationship-led IR role. We are looking for someone who combines strong technical and financial capability with excellent communication, project management and stakeholder skills. Key responsibilities of this significant role are as follows:
- Take ownership of day-to-day engagement with the fund’s sophisticated institutional LP base.
- Play a key role in fundraising preparation and execution, including investor materials, due diligence and investor meetings.
- Work closely with the investment team to understand portfolio company performance, valuations and investment returns.
- Interrogate financial models and translate complex investment information into clear, credible investor communication.
- Drive multiple strategic and operational IR workstreams,
effectively acting as the COO of the Investor Relations function.
- Build trusted relationships across the investment team and the fund’s global investor base.
We are seeking an investment banking-trained professional with approximately 7–10 years’ experience who brings strong financial analysis and execution capability alongside the interpersonal skills to operate with sophisticated institutional investors. Candidates may currently be in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, corporate strategy or Investor Relations/capital formation within another GP. You will be highly financially literate, comfortable with models and company analysis, exceptionally organised and detail-oriented, and able to understand and articulate the nuances behind investment performance and returns. The role is Melbourne-based, and candidates should either be currently based in Melbourne or have genuine ties to the city and a clear motivation to return.
This is a rare opportunity for someone looking to combine their investment banking skillset with meaningful LP exposure and a long-term career within a leading private markets platform.
