IT Service Desk role based in Townsville

Your new role An exciting opportunity exists for a customer-focused IT Service Desk Officer to join a collaborative technology team supporting a nationally significant organisation. Based in Townsville, you will provide first and second-level technical support, helping staff resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues while ensuring a high standard of customer service. You'll play a key role in maintaining Standard Operating Environments (SOE), managing ICT assets, supporting desktop and mobile technologies, creating user documentation, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and service delivery.
This role offers a varied workload, exposure to modern technologies, and the chance to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you'll bring previous experience in IT Service Desk, Desktop Support, or End User Computing environments, along with strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and mobile technologies.
You'll have experience supporting Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Office and Intune, and possess the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
You will also demonstrate
- Qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience supporting desktop, laptop, mobile, printer, and conferencing technologies.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to create user guides, documentation, and knowledge base articles.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
