Role Description The Junior Cloud Engineer role at BIPL is a full-time hybrid position based in Melbourne, VIC, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The role involves assisting in the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure supporting internal systems and business operations. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring cloud environments, managing Linux-based servers, supporting databases, and helping troubleshoot performance or availability issues.

The Junior Cloud

Engineer will collaborate with senior engineers and software development teams to implement best practices for security, scalability, and reliability in cloud-based solutions. The role also includes documenting configurations, participating in automation and optimization initiatives, and contributing to continuous improvement of infrastructure processes.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess foundational skills in Cloud Computing and Infrastructure,



including exposure to major cloud platforms and basic networking concepts.
- Candidates should possess skills in Linux and Databases, including experience with command-line administration and relational or NoSQL database management.
- Candidates should possess skills in Software Development, such as familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash) and version control tools.
- Understanding of security, backup, and monitoring practices in cloud and on-prem environments is beneficial.
- Relevant degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, willingness to learn, and capacity to work collaboratively in a hybrid team workplace are essential.
