Sullivan Digital is a small Australian software firm, headquartered in Brisbane. Since 2021, we've been building and maintaining systems across a range of industries — everything from event-sourced web platforms to mobile apps, and the infrastructure underneath them. Our clients span agriculture, sport, professional services and more, and no two weeks are the same.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a junior or intermediate-level developer to join us in a permanent full-time position as we take on exciting new challenges. We value curiosity — you want to know why something works, not just how — and you enjoy problems for their own sake. We want someone who is proud of the contribution they make, and is comfortable asking questions and putting ideas forward, including to people more senior than them.

Essentials

At a minimum, you'll have:

- Solid foundational software development skills (including relational databases / SQL)
- A working understanding of Git and version control
- Previous exposure to at least one of our core toolchains: .NET / ASP.NET Core, or Nuxt / Vue.js
- The ability to work autonomously when required
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- The right to work in Australia

A Computer Science or Software Engineering degree is not necessarily required. If you don't have one, we'd expect equivalent hands-on experience and know-how. We care more about your aptitude, tenacity and passion than your report card.

Bonus Points

Not required, but they'll help:

- Exposure to any other part of our stack: Dart/Flutter, Go, PostgreSQL, AWS, Linux, macOS, Docker,



JetBrains tooling
- Experience in adjacent technical fields — sysadmin, MSP work, UI/UX, web design
- Experience working directly with non-technical clients (freelance work, paid side projects)
- An interest in experimenting with AI-assisted development tooling on real projects

What you'll do

Our development work is hands-on and touches many aspects of delivering solutions to our diverse client base. As such, you'll get the prospect to perform many different tasks in this role. We don't expect you to have prior experience with everything on this list, but we are looking for the type of person who is keen to learn and develop skills such as:
- Building and consuming REST APIs across client back-ends
- Building user interfaces in Vue (Nuxt)
- Writing and optimising SQL queries against PostgreSQL databases
- Debugging and fixing defects reported by clients and end users
- Understanding and modifying existing codebases you didn't write
- Translating client requirements into technical tasks and proposed solutions
- Writing unit and integration tests
- Packaging and running services in Docker
- Deploying applications to AWS and to self-hosted Linux environments
