Role Description The Junior Test Engineer role is a full time hybrid position based in Brisbane City, QLD, with flexibility for some work from home. In this role, the Junior Test Engineer supports the quality of Comtrac’s investigation management platform by designing, executing, and documenting tests for new and existing features. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing requirements and user stories, preparing test cases, performing functional and regression testing, and reporting defects with clear, reproducible steps.

The role collaborates closely with developers, product managers,



and senior testers to validate fixes, maintain test artifacts, and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.

Qualifications

- Foundational skills in Test Engineering and Testing, with an understanding of software quality principles.
- Ability to design, maintain, and execute Test Cases to validate product features and workflows.
- Experience or training in Test Execution, including logging results and tracking defects.
- Knowledge of Functional Testing to verify system behavior against requirements and use cases.
- Basic familiarity with software development lifecycles and working in agile or iterative environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in computer science, engineering, information technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Exposure to testing tools, issue tracking systems, or automation frameworks is beneficial but not mandatory.
