We are currently partnering with an established investment and financial services business based in Fortitude Valley to recruit an experienced Accountant for an initial three-month contract.

n

Operating within the investment space and working alongside a portfolio of Australian businesses, the organisation offers a professional yet entrepreneurial setting with exposure across a diverse group of businesses.

n

Due to a peak period, they are looking for a capable Accountant who can step in quickly and provide hands‐on support across the day-to-day accounting function.

n

The Role

n

Working closely with the broader finance team, your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments
n
- Completing balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
n
- Supporting month‐end close and reporting processes
n
- Assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as required
n
- Investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies
n
- Assisting with general ledger maintenance
n
- Supporting compliance requirements and related reporting
n
- Responding to ad hoc finance and accounting queries
n
- Providing broader support across the finance function during a busy period
n

About You

n

This role will suit an experienced Accountant who is comfortable stepping into a business and getting up to speed quickly.



You will ideally bring:

n

n
- 3+ years' experience in an Accountant, Financial Accountant or strong Assistant Accountant capacity
n
- Strong hands‐on experience with journals, balance sheet reconciliations and month‐end
n
- A solid understanding of general ledger accounting and accounting principles
n
- Experience assisting with financial compliance, statutory obligations and/or related reporting
n
- Confidence investigating variances and resolving discrepancies with minimal supervision
n
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working across accounting/ERP systems
n
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines
n
- A proactive, adaptable approach and willingness to work across a broad accounting remit
n
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a small finance team
n
- Availability to commence immediately or within one week's notice
n
