Job Description

Our client, a large top tier Global Asset Manager, are looking for a Senior Fund Accounting Specialist, responsible for the for the Tax Accounting and Distribution process for their Australian business.

This newly created, permanent roles, will have oversight of the external fund administrators who have responsibility for fund accounting duties for a large number of high value funds.

n

In this fund manager side, review focussed position, the successful candidate will be looking to build on their fund accounting experience in a Fund manager where they can develop their career.

n

Key responsibilities include:

n

- Responsible for the Fund Accounting oversight and review of external Fund administrators work.
n
- Deliver accurate and timely tax reporting
n
- Manage auditors throughout the tax audit process
n
- Review and maintenance of fund tax profiles and security static data used to drive reporting and tax calculations
n
- Assist in the completion of projects, including testing of tax templates
n
- Design and implementation of fund control framework
n
- Execution of control checks
n
- Reviewing accuracy of unit prices calculated by external administrator
n
- Responding to internal and external fund accounting queries
n
- Oversight, co-ordination and review of fund distributions
n
- Oversight and management of third-party vendors (fund accountants, administrators, custodians) related to the Funds
n




- Coordinate and communicate inquiries to appropriate internal departments
n
- Develop reports for Funds Management, operation committee, Boards & Management
n
- Support Account Management and business development activities. e.g. reports and advise
n
- Support Fund Launches
n
- Manage various projects related to process improvements, procedure and systems development
n

Experience/Knowledge:

n

n
- CA/CPA qualified with highly regarded training in either a Big 4 environment or a reputable business services firm, bringing solid technical foundations and polished stakeholder communication.
n
- Experience across listed environments, financial services, or investment‐related tax, demonstrating comfort with complex structures, governance, and advisory.
n
- Currently in a tax‐dominant role (or seeking to remain tax‐focused), with clear motivation to deepen technical tax capability rather than broad finance or treasury.
n
- Presents confidently, communicates clearly, and is well‐regarded by senior stakeholders; able to operate effectively with Heads of Tax, CFOs, and senior finance leaders.
n
- Recognised for strong technical grounding, high-quality deliverables, and the disciplined approach that comes from Big 4 or top-tier business services training.
