About The Group

Our Digital Economy team advises major Australian organisations and government clients on complex technology and digital matters, from large-scale technology transformations, procurement and outsourcing arrangements through to privacy, data, cyber security, intellectual property, AI and emerging technologies.

You'll work closely with Partners on complex matters, with genuine exposure to clients and the opportunity to build your expertise across the practice. The team is growing, and you'll be joining a group that is collaborative, down to earth and genuinely supportive of its people.

About The Role

- Provide legal advice and support on outsourcing, managed services, procurement of technology solutions, cloud and SaaS service arrangements and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence.
- Advise on the commercialisation and protection of intellectual property and data assets and assist with data breach responses and cyber risk matters.
- Assist clients with contract tendering, procurement and negotiation processes, including providing advice on Australian Consumer Law matters.
- Work directly with clients to understand their legal and commercial needs and provide practical advice.
- Draft, review and analyse legal documents with precision and attention to detail.




- Work closely with Partners and other members of the team on a range of complex matters.
- Collaborate with team members across the practice to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.
- Contribute to the development of your technical expertise, client relationships and broader commercial skills.
- Participate in business development and other initiatives that support the continued growth of the practice.

About You

- A tertiary qualification in Law and a current Practising Certificate for the relevant jurisdiction.
- A minimum of 3 years post-admission experience (PAE) in front-end legal work relevant to this position.
- Strong analytical, critical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through complex legal issues.
- Solid legal drafting skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Effective file management and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- A client-focused approach, with the ability to build positive and trusted relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- An interest in developing your commercial and business development skills.
- Highly organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively.
- A willingness to challenge the status quo and find practical solutions to legal and commercial issues.
- Strong awareness of risk and a commitment to following appropriate risk management processes.
- A commercial mindset and pragmatic approach to legal practice.




- A commitment to continuous learning and developing your technical and professional skills.
- The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and recognise when to seek guidance or escalate an issue.
