Salary/Level: Level 7, $144,755 - $154,717 p.a. plus Superannuation

Tenure: Permanent, Full time

Location: Kensington, Western Australia

Tourism and Concessions Branch manages a range of leases and licences including commercial operations licences, commercial leases, apiary permits, and commercial filming and events licences. This includes identifying and supporting revenue-generating opportunities associated with leases and access licences and the development of new commercial opportunities.

We currently have an opportunity for a Leasing Manager to join our team.

The Leasing Manager oversees the department’s leasing team and leads the coordination of commercial operations managed under leases and access licences across lands managed by the department. This includes identifying and supporting revenue-generating opportunities associated with leases and access licences and the development of current commercial opportunities. The role also provides leadership to engage with joint and cooperative management partners on lease, licence and access authorities, seeking effective and efficient input to statutory processes whilst giving effect to requirements and obligations under relevant Indigenous Land Use Agreements with Native Title parties.

The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria

1. Advanced analytical,



problem-solving and negotiation skills, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach and sound judgement in both strategic and operational decision-making, balancing competing interests and providing sound strategic advice to senior decision makers.
2. Ability to interpret and apply legislation relevant to natural resource management, parks management, and/or tourism.
3. Outstanding stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and influence outcomes across government, industry, Aboriginal Traditional Owners, and community stakeholders with diverse or competing interests. Proven ability to engage effectively and respectfully with Aboriginal Traditional Owners and support the delivery of outcomes through joint management arrangements and collaborative partnerships.
4. Proven strategic leadership and management capabilities, including experience leading and supervising teams, driving organisational outcomes, and fostering a high-performing, customer-focused culture.
5. Demonstrated strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with experience in identifying, negotiating and implementing innovative strategies across diverse revenue-generating activities and commercial opportunities in nature-based tourism.
