About the Roles The Faculty of Law is recruiting for Lecturers and Senior Lecturers to fill four positions available, through various employment engagements. The positions available are:
A. 2 x current continuing, full time (1.0FTE) Lecturers
These will be Level B academic appointments, consisting of teaching, research and service and engagement. Appointees will be expected to teach in the faculty undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programs; and to conduct high-quality research that will contribute to the attainment of the faculty vision and to UTS 2030.
B. 1 x fixed-term, full time (1.0FTE) Lecturer or Senior Lecturer for a 3-year appointment
This will be a Level B or Level C Education-focussed academic appointment, with a minimum of 70% teaching. The appointee will be expected to teach in the faculty undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programs; and to UTS 2030.
C. 1 x fixed-term Lecturer* or Senior Lecturer for an 15-month appointment
* appointment at Level B would be at full time (1.0FTE)
appointment at Level C would be at part time (0.6FTE)
This will be a Level B or C Education-focussed academic appointment, with a minimum of 70% teaching. The appointee will be expected to teach in the faculty undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programs; and to UTS 2030.
The Faculty of Law is currently looking to recruit in all areas but has particular need in Commercial law, Civil Practice, Equity and Law and Technology.
About You To be successful in the role, you will need to meet the following specific position criteria.
For Positions A:
- A Doctorate in Law or equivalent; AND a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor.
- Ability to produce research with impact.
- Recent success in research as evidenced by publications, research grants and/or development of research track.
- Recent successful teaching experience in a law school or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the law discipline,
especially in relation to areas of particular need in the faculty's core subjects; and an awareness of professional and practice issues surrounding the law discipline.
- Thorough command of the principles and practice of effective teaching and learning.
- An ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups and contribute effectively to Faculty and University boards and committees.
For Positions B and C:
- Completion or near completion of A Doctorate in law or equivalent AND a Bachelor of law or Juris Doctor OR, Completion or near completion of a Masters in Law or equivalent together with significant professional practice experience AND Bachelor of law or Juris Doctor.
- Recent successful teaching experience in a law school or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the law discipline, especially in relation to areas of particular need in the faculty's core subjects; and an awareness of professional and practice issues surrounding the law discipline.
- Thorough command of the principles and practice of effective teaching and learning.
- An ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups and contribute effectively to Faculty and University boards and committees.

Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $130,297 to $154,215 per annum (Lecturer - Academic Level B)
Base Salary Range: $158,393 to $181,901 per annum* (Senior Lecturer - Academic Level C)
*pro rata for part-time appointments
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
