Are you a legal professional with 2-5 years PQE looking to broaden your experience across both front-end and back-end matters within a specialist construction law practice?
This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with an experienced Principal and gain exposure to major construction, infrastructure and engineering projects at all stages of the project lifecycle. You'll support a diverse range of matters, including contract drafting and negotiation, claims management, dispute resolution and litigation support, while continuing to develop your technical expertise in a collaborative and supportive environment.

About the Chance
Working directly with the Principal, you will support the delivery of legal services across a broad range of construction and infrastructure matters. You will assist clients with contractual, commercial and project delivery issues while developing your expertise across both front-end and back-end construction law.

Key Responsibilities
Front-End Construction
- Draft, review and assist in negotiating construction contracts, subcontracts and project agreements.
- Review contractual amendments and identify key legal and commercial risks.
- Assist with tender documentation and procurement processes.
- Support advice relating to risk allocation, project delivery models and contract administration.
- Prepare correspondence and legal documentation for project teams and clients.
Claims, Disputes & Insurance
- Assist in preparing construction claims, contractual notices and project correspondence.
- Support dispute resolution processes, including mediation, expert determination, arbitration and litigation.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, submissions and briefing materials.
- Assist with drafting pleadings, affidavits and other litigation-related documents.
- Support clients in managing disputes and achieving practical commercial outcomes.
Client Support & Practice Contribution
- Assist in maintaining positive client and stakeholder relationships.
- Work alongside project directors, commercial managers, engineers and technical experts.
- Contribute to the delivery of practical, commercially focused legal advice.
- Support knowledge-sharing initiatives, precedent development and process improvements.
- Collaborate with the Principal and wider team on ongoing matters and client deliverables.
About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- 2-5 years' post-admission experience (PQE), preferably in construction, infrastructure or project law.
- Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial or construction-related contracts.
- Exposure to construction, commercial litigation, projects or dispute resolution matters.
- Strong legal drafting, research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A commercial and practical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in building a career in construction law.
Highly Regarded but not required
- Front-end construction law experience with an interest in developing disputes and claims expertise.
- Exposure to construction-related insurance matters.
- Experience gained within a specialist, boutique, national or in-house legal environment.
- Demonstrated interest in the construction, infrastructure or engineering sectors.
