Master Builders Victoria (MBV) represents over 6,000 members within the building construction industry across Victoria, including large and small builders across the domestic and commercial sectors, as well as apprentices, suppliers, and manufacturers.

Key Position Tasks:
The Legal Counsel provides expert legal advice and support to Master Builders Victoria members and the broader organisation, helping to strengthen MBV's reputation as a trusted provider of skilled legal services.
Key responsibilities include
- Deliver specialist advice on construction contracts, dispute resolution matters, and the drafting of industry-standard contracts, agreements,
and related legal documentation
- Develop legal resources, templates, articles, FAQs, and other educational materials to support member knowledge and understanding of legal developments and industry best practice
- Support MBV's policy, advocacy, and member engagement initiatives through legal input, webinar and workshop presentations, and attendance at industry and member events
Key Skills, Attributes and Experience:
- Essential: Must be an Australian Legal Practitioner (within the meaning of the Legal Profession Act 2004).
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Building and construction law desired but not essential
