About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Project Consultant to join our Legal Project Management (LPM) team. This is an exciting opportunity for a project coordination professional to play a key role in supporting complex legal matters, driving process improvements and enhancing the client experience within a leading professional services setting.
As a Legal Project Consultant, you will partner with Legal Project Managers to support the planning, coordination and delivery of major legal matters. You will be responsible for preparing project documentation, coordinating stakeholder communications, tracking progress, reporting on financial performance and helping legal teams adopt project management tools and methodologies.
This is a fast-paced and varied role that offers exposure to multiple stakeholders, projects and strategic initiatives across the business.
This position is being offered on a full-time,
15-month contract basis to cover parental leave.
Key responsibilities
- Support the delivery of large, complex and extra-demand legal matters alongside Legal Project Managers
- Coordinate project plans, timelines, action trackers and communication plans
- Facilitate project meetings, capture detailed minutes and monitor agreed actions
- Prepare project reporting, client updates and matter documentation
- Assist with financial reporting, budgeting and matter performance tracking
- Partner with lawyers and business services teams to improve matter management processes
- Promote and embed best-practice project management principles and tools across legal teams
- Provide support and guidance on project management technology platforms and templates
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation and enhanced client service
- Contribute to training initiatives and the ongoing evolution of project management capabilities across the firm
About You
- Previous experience in a Legal Project Management (LPM) function, Project Coordinator or similar role within a legal or professional services environment
- Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters, competing priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence at all levels
- Commercially minded, with experience supporting budgeting, financial reporting and matter performance tracking
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solutions-focused, proactive and confident taking ownership of initiatives and driving outcomes
- Technologically savvy, with strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to quickly learn and leverage new systems and tools
- Resilient, adaptable and calm under pressure, with a positive,
client-focused approach
- Passionate about continuous improvement, with a track record of identifying opportunities to enhance processes, efficiency and the overall client experience
