About the role The Lifestyle Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating a diverse activity program that respects each consumer's identity, culture and preferences. You will partner closely with residents and their representatives to ensure activities are meaningful, enjoyable and aligned with individual strengths and interests. You will also coordinate our volunteer program, support a culture of safety and wellbeing, and ensure our activity program meets legislative, organisational and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing consumer assessments and develop individualised activity plans in partnership with residents and families.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate a varied activity program including individual, small group and community based activities.
- Promote a service culture that supports consumer wellbeing, identity, diversity and independence.
- Lead and support activity staff and volunteers, ensuring role clarity, training, competency and positive team culture.
- Ensure safe work practices, risk management, incident reporting and open disclosure processes.
- Manage resources, equipment and stock to support a protected and high quality activity program.
- Coordinate quarterly newsletters and consumer meetings.
- Contribute to continuous improvement,
strategic plan objectives and quality outcomes.
- Ensure accurate documentation, reporting and evaluation of activity plans and consumer engagement.
About you
- Bachelor of Health Science (Recreation Therapy), Certificate IV in Leisure & Health (CHC43415), or equivalent.
- Current First Aid – Level 2 Certificate.
- Basic Food Handling Certificate.
- Strong leadership skills using a situational leadership approach.
- Experience delivering activity programs in residential aged care, including dementia care.
- Excellent planning, organisational, analytical and decision making skills.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence.
- Experience coordinating volunteers (desirable).
