About the role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive M&A;/Business Broker Deal Originator to help identify, qualify, and source private business acquisitions that align with our investment mandate. This can be full or part time.

You will work closely with the principal to build a strong deal pipeline, develop relationships with business owners and advisors, and play a pivotal role in shaping the investment group’s ongoing growth through acquisition.

Key responsibilities

- Originate and qualify on and off-market business acquisition opportunities ideally across Queensland, NSW and Victoria
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with business owners, brokers, accountants, and corporate advisors to generate deal flow
- Identify and source potential M&A; targets and investment opportunities through market research, industry analysis, and relationship development




- Conduct preliminary due diligence and analysis on prospective investment opportunities to assess strategic fit and commercial viability
- Evaluate fit and quality of earnings against investment criteria
- Prepare concise deal summaries for internal assessment
- Support due diligence and transaction execution where required
- Maintain detailed records and documenting all deal pipeline activities and progress throughout the origination process

What we're looking for

- Strong background in M&A;, banking and finance, private equity, business broking, or business development
- Deep network across the private business community
- Skilled in building rapport and trust with business owners and advisors
- Commercially astute, self-driven, and results-oriented
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel as required
