About Us

Stomping Ground a proudly independent brewery built on the idea that beer should be for everyone. Since opening in 2016, we’ve been bringing people together over great food, great beer, and good times.

The Local Taphouse St Kilda is a much-loved neighbourhood pub, known for its outstanding craft beer selection, quality food, and warm, welcoming atmosphere. A favourite among locals and visitors alike, it's a place where friends come together to enjoy great beer, delicious meals, and genuine hospitality in the heart of St Kilda.

The Role

As Head Chef, you’ll be the right hand to our Group Head Chef — leading day-to-day kitchen operations, maintaining exceptional food quality, and supporting a fun, high-performing kitchen team. You’ll take ownership of:

- Preparing and delivering food to Stomping Ground’s high standards
- Training, developing, and motivating your kitchen crew
- Managing stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and WHS compliance
- Helping smash food GP and quality targets

We’re after someone who loves the buzz of a busy service, leads with positivity, and shares our passion for great beer and food.

What You’ll Bring

- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar leadership role




- Certificate IV in Hospitality Management (or equivalent) preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- A calm, professional approach under pressure
- A genuine love for hospitality, people, and teamwork
