The way you welcome someone sets the tone for their entire experience. This role is deeply human and community‑centred, offering the chance to create a secure, calm and inclusive environment from the moment a resident arrives.You will deliver trauma‑informed, client‑focused support that honours each person’s story and strengths. Your ability to be flexible, adaptable and responsive ensures people feel secure, respected and empowered as they begin their journey toward long‑term stability.About the roleAs a Case Worker, you will provide short‑term crisis case management during the first 21 days of a resident’s stay. You will assess immediate housing, health, mental health, financial and practical needs, tailoring support with to each individual.You will work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to coordinate referrals, advocacy and access to housing pathways. The role requires agility,



quick thinking and the ability to remain calm and grounded in fast‑paced or crisis situations.This permanent full‑time position sits within the Emergency Accommodation and Referral Support Service, reporting to the Team Leader: Front of House. Pay is in accordance with a SCHADS Level 5.How you will make an impactProvide a safe, calm and welcoming first point of contact for residentsDeliver trauma‑informed, client‑centred and culturally safe supportAssess immediate housing, health, mental health, financial and practical needsTailor individual case plans to support client goalsStrengthen community connection through referrals and housing pathway accessIdentify and address barriers to income supports and paymentsRespond promptly to crisis situations with appropriate strategiesMaintain accurate and confidential case notes, assessments and outcome dataContribute to a positive, inclusive and collaborative team environmentWhat you will bringRelevant qualifications in Social Welfare or Community ServicesExperience delivering client‑focused, trauma‑informed supportAbility to remain flexible, adaptable and calm in changing situationsStrong communication skills using clear, plain EnglishCapacity to build respectful relationships with clients and partnersUnderstanding of homelessness, its causes and impactsExperience in welfare or human servicesDesirable: A current driver’s licence to support clients with urgent appointmentsA current First Aid CertificateWhat we offerAs a registered not-for-profit organisation,
