The Opportunity

An prospect has opened for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a highly capable engineering team working on sophisticated geospatial data processing and visualisation products within a growing technology environment.

n

This is a genuine people and delivery leadership role rather than a hands-on coding position. You'll create the environment in which talented engineers can perform at their best, taking ownership of delivery, developing your people and continually improving engineering practices.

The Role

n

- Lead, mentor and develop a team of talented software engineers
n
- Own team delivery, planning, resourcing and execution
n
- Remove blockers and proactively manage delivery risks
n
- Work closely with Tech Leads and Product Managers
n
- Balance delivery timelines with quality and team wellbeing
n
- Improve engineering processes and ways of working
n
- Support recruitment, onboarding and future team growth
n
- Build a positive, high-performing engineering culture
n

About You

n

n
- Experience as a Software Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager or Development Manager
n
- Strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring experience
n
- Solid technical foundations within software engineering
n




- Experience leading Agile software delivery
n
- Strong planning, delivery and organisational skills
n
- Experience helping engineering teams establish and improve ways of working
n
- Excellent communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
n
- Experience within fast-growing or evolving organisations
n

n

Experience with geospatial, GIS, mapping, spatial data or visualisation products would be highly regarded.

n

Previous Defence experience is advantageous but not essential.

n

You must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian NV1 security clearance.
