Our client is a large, complex organisation currently navigating a critical budgeting period. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established team on a contract basis, supporting business continuity during a period of transition.
n
This role will see you partnering closely with stakeholders across a portfolio, contributing to budget development and supporting the consolidation of portfolio and divisional budget submissions.
n
While initially engaged on a contract basis through to the end of February 2027, there is strong potential for this position to become permanent for the right candidate.
n
You will join a team comprising a Senior Management Accountant, two Management Accountants and a Budget Analyst, forming part of a broader finance function of approximately ten staff.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Support portfolio budgeting and forecasting activities, with a strong focus on the current budget cycle
n
- Provide financial advice and commentary to portfolio stakeholders
n
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of month-end financial results
n
- Lead client meetings and deliver clear, well‐articulated financial commentary
n
- Develop a strong understanding of underlying business operations to identify opportunities to add value
n
- Prepare insightful analysis on key financial drivers and performance outcomes
n
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to a range of stakeholders
n
- Identify and contribute to process improvement opportunities and small‐scale projects
n
- Build effective working relationships across a broad and complex stakeholder group
n
- Support portfolio planning and strategic initiatives through financial analysis
n

About You
n
n
- Strong management accounting experience, ideally gained in a complex, multi‐stakeholder environment
n
- CA/CPA qualified, or well progressed towards completion
n
- Advanced Excel skills are essential; intermediate Power BI capability is highly desirable
n
- Experience with Oracle and Hyperion advantageous, though not essential, as training will be provided
n
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence budget holders and stakeholders
n
- A team-oriented approach and genuine interest in contributing positively to team culture
n
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to lead client meetings and deliver commentary clearly
n
n
