Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and experienced Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) to support schools across the Southern Vale Cluster of Toowoomba.
n
This position is available from 06 Oct 2026 - 20 Nov 2026.
n
Based at Drayton State School, this role will provide strategic leadership in inclusive education, supporting schools to strengthen practices and improve outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.
n
The successful applicant will have two days per week allocated to supporting outlying schools, with travel time incorporated into the role.
n
This is a fantastic opportunity to work collaboratively with school leaders and staff across the cluster, building capability and promoting consistent, high-quality inclusive practices.
n
This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Your Opportunity
n
n
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
n
- Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
n
- Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
n
- Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
n
- Provide, support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.
n
