Job Description
The Supply Chain Technician (Mobile Device Repair Technician) will be based across our locations in Victoria and Queensland, including Highpoint, Chadstone, and Werribee in Victoria, and Mount Gravatt in Queensland. The role ensures adherence to quality, cost, and efficiency requirements by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing assigned devices. The technician conducts thorough root-cause analysis using a methodical failure-analysis approach to prevent quality excursions and product non-conformities. This role is also responsible for performing functional evaluations on both components and main logic boards.

Device Diagnostics and Troubleshooting

- Perform detailed assessments of smart devices (predominantly smart phones) to identify hardware and software faults.
n
- Use manufacturer-approved or industry-standard diagnostic tools and procedures to accurately pinpoint issues.
n
- Provide customers with clear explanations of findings and recommended repair actions.
n
n
Hardware Repair and Replacement
n
n
- Repair and replace key device components (e.g., screens, batteries, charging ports, camera modules, speakers, PCBs).
n
- Ensure all repairs meet applicable quality, safety, and warranty standards set by the manufacturer or service organization.
n

Software Repair and Configuration
n
n
- Diagnose and resolve software-related issues such as OS errors, app crashes, boot loops, and firmware problems.
n
- Perform software updates, flashing, and device resets using manufacturer-approved or industry-standard repair platforms.
n
- Ensure correct configuration of customer settings, backups, and data restoration when possible.
n
n
Quality Control and Testing
n
n
- Conduct pre- and post-repair testing to ensure full device functionality.
n
- Use standardized checklists to verify performance of touch, display, sensors, camera, connectivity, and battery.
n

Inventory and Parts Management
n
n
- Manage repair parts, tools, and consumables efficiently.
n
- Ensure genuine or high-quality manufacturer-approved components are used and track parts usage accurately.
n
- Report low stock, defective parts, or tooling issues to supervisors.
n
n
Customer Service and Communication
n
n
- Where required, provide professional, explicit, and courteous communication to customers regarding repair timelines, costs, and outcomes.
n
- Offer technical guidance and care recommendations to enhance device longevity.
n
- Handle customer concerns and elevate unresolved issues when necessary.
n
n
Documentation and Compliance
n
n
- Ensure compliance with repair protocols, service policies, and safety procedures.
n
- Protect customer privacy and maintain data integrity at all times.
n
n
Continuous Learning and Technical Development
n
n
- Stay updated on new device models, repair techniques, and emerging mobile technologies.
n
- Participate in relevant training programs and certifications.
n
- Share knowledge and support junior technicians when required.
n
n
Any other responsibilities as directed by your manager.

Qualifications:
n
n
- Higher school certificate or equivalent
n
- Cert III in Electronics and Communication desired.
n
- Minimum 6 months in electronics manufacturing or mobile repair industry with troubleshooting and assembly skills.
n
- Mobile device testing, repair, and troubleshooting
n
- Proficiency in mobile device assembly and disassembly
n
- Foundational knowledge of mobile communications technology
n
- Strong quality-focused mindset
n
- Basic problem-solving and analytical skills
n
- Familiarity with processes for handling non-conforming products
n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
n
