About the Role

This is a key hands-on trade position within a high-performing maintenance team supporting a 24/7 poultry processing facility.

You will be part of a reliability driven operation where preventative maintenance, root cause analysis and continuous improvement are just as important as breakdown response. The plant includes automated conveyors, grading systems, chilling equipment and packaging lines operating in a temperature controlled and wash down environment.

Someone who can think critically under pressure, diagnose faults efficiently and implement long term fixes would be ideal for this role.

You will work closely with production,



quality and engineering teams to maintain equipment integrity, improve uptime and support plant upgrades as the business continues to invest in technology and automation.

We currently have permanent opportunities available across afternoon and night shift, generally aligning to approximately 1:00pm–9:00pm and 9:00pm–5:00am. Exact start and finish times may vary slightly depending on operational requirements and will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute preventative maintenance programs across processing and packaging lines
- Maintain conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts and pneumatic systems
- Conduct inspections to identify wear and potential failure points
- Implement corrective actions to prevent repeat breakdowns
- Provide rapid response to mechanical breakdowns in a live production environment
- Diagnose faults across hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Restore plant safely and efficiently to minimise downtime
- Participate in plant upgrades and equipment installations
- Support downtime reduction and reliability initiatives
- Contribute ideas to improve plant performance and safety
- Maintain equipment in accordance with HACCP and food safety standards
- Follow strict hygiene,



wash down and biosecurity protocols
- Ensure maintenance practices meet audit requirements
- Accurately complete work orders within CMMS
- Maintain detailed shift handovers
- Support maintenance reporting and compliance documentation

About You

Essential

- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, Mechanical Fitter qualification or equivalent
- Strong mechanical fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Commitment to safety and food quality standards
- Ability to work afternoon or night shift, depending on the position applied for
- Full Australian working rights

Highly Regarded

- Experience in food manufacturing, meat processing or FMCG
- Experience in poultry processing
- Exposure to automated production systems
- Experience working in wash down or hygienic production environments
- Welding and light fabrication skills
- Forklift or EWP licence
