Maintenance Foreman

Afrimat Industries is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Foreman with 10+ years’

experience in industrial manufacturing or mining environments. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance function of bulk materials handling equipment such as conveyors, feeders, stacker reclaimers, mills, bucket elevators, etc.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

- Trade Qualification: Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) as a Mechanical Fitter (accredited by MERSETA).
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years post-qualification and 5 years of supervisory or management experience in industrial manufacturing or mining environments.
- People leadership skills.
- Prioritisation and decision-making ability in a rapid-changing environment.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Fault-finding, root cause analysis and maintenance experience.
- Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and computer literacy in MS Office.
- Hands-on maintenance experience on conveyor belts, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, mills, gearboxes, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems,



bearings and stacking reclaiming systems.
- Previous working experience on a Cement plant will be advantageous.

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

- Coordinate day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities at Afrimat Lichtenburg cement.
- Plan, schedule and supervise preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance.
- Provide technical guidance to the team and ensure maintenance is executed safely and to a high standard.
- Lead, mentor and manage a team of artisans.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with operations to support plant availability and production targets.
- Manage spares, purchase orders and service providers, and maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting.
- Manage cost control.
- The role will form part of a rotational standby schedule.
