About the Company
Supplying global markets since 1933, our client is an Australian-owned agribusiness producing premium, responsibly raised beef across three processing facilities in Victoria and Tasmania. With a collaborative, team-focused culture and portfolio of 10 premium beef brands, they are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to support and develop operations at their state-of-the-art plant in Tongala, VIC.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership and change management role with genuine scope to reshape the maintenance function at a large, multi-shift beef processing facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager and working closely with the Group Asset Manager, the Maintenance Manager will establish planned maintenance, improve reliability and capability, and strengthen team performance.

Duties
- Plan, schedule and prioritise all maintenance activity across site, including urgent repairs and preventative schedules to minimise production interruption and downtime.
- Manage and develop an established, multi-shift maintenance team, providing coaching and mentoring as required.
- Lead the transition from reactive to preventative maintenance, establishing new processes, expectations and accountability whilst supporting rollout of recent CMMS system.
- Manage maintenance budgets, CAPEX documentation and monthly reporting, pursuing improvement opportunities where seen fit.
- Coordinate external contractors, ensuring work meets site and regulatory standards and uptime expectations are achieved.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant fitter, mechanic, electrical or similar engineering-based trade qualification with extensive hands-on maintenance experience.
- Experience in FMCG, food processing or related manufacturing environment where downtime affects product.
- Proven success leading change management and establishing preventative maintenance structure.
- Strong people leadership capability — able to set clear expectations, develop individuals, and hold a team accountable across multiple shifts.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets and CAPEX, with working knowledge of CMMS platforms and the value of planned work orders and data capture.
