About the Role

South East Leisure (SEL) is seeking a strategic and people-focused leader to join our team as Manager, People and Capability.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is responsible for leading SEL's people, workforce planning and organisational capability agenda. The position plays a critical role in ensuring we have the workforce capability, systems, policies, required to deliver our strategic and operational objectives.

Partnering with leaders across the organisation, you will provide expert advice and leadership across workforce planning, employee relations, industrial relations, leadership capability, organisational culture, workforce analytics and people governance.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced People & Culture professional who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery and wants to make a lasting impact on both people and organisational performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead South East Leisure's People and Capability function.
- Develop and implement workforce planning and capability strategies.
- Partner with the CEO, Executive Team and Board committees on strategic people matters.
- Provide expert advice on employment legislation, industrial relations, Award interpretation and employee relations.
- Lead organisational capability, leadership development and talent initiatives.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance development, succession planning and workforce engagement.
- Drive workforce analytics, reporting and organisational insights.
- Maintain governance over people-related policies, processes and compliance obligations.
- Support positive workplace culture, employee wellbeing and leadership effectiveness.

About You You are an experienced and capable Human Resources professional and leader who is a looking for the chance to be part of something exciting.



You combine strategic thinking with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organisation. Experience within the sport, leisure and/or recreation industry would be advatageous, but is not essential.

You will bring

- Significant senior-level experience in leading People and Capability strategy, Human Resources practice and workforce planning.
- Experience partnering with executives and senior leaders.
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation, industrial relations and Award interpretation.
- Experience leading initiatives building employee relations and organisational culture and capability.
- Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in a multi-site, service-based or operational environment will be highly regarded.

About South East Leisure South East Leisure is proud to be entrusted by the City of Greater Dandenong Council to manage and deliver aquatic and leisure facilities, programs, and experiences that enhance the health and wellbeing of the municipality's diverse community.

South East Leisure currently manages and operates:

- Dandenong Oasis
- Noble Park Aquatic Centre
- Springers Leisure Centre
- Dandenong Stadium

South East Leisure is also preparing for the transition to operations of the $120 million Oasis Aquatics and Wellbeing Centre, scheduled to open in late 2027.
