Based at our Sea Lake operation in north-west Victoria, we are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operator (Chemical Plant Operator) to join our operations team. Sea Lake is a town in the Mallee district of north-west Victoria and is situated along the southern shores of the beautiful Lake Tyrell. The town is located 351kms north-west of Melbourne, and 70kms west of Swan Hill, in the heart of Australia’s wheat belt and part of the beautiful silo trail.

The Role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Coordinator, this position is responsible for operating, monitoring and controlling salt refining, brine processing and manufacturing plant equipment to ensure production, quality, safety and environmental standards are achieved.
Key responsibilities include
•Operate and monitor salt refining, drying, screening, conveying and packaging equipment.
•Monitor plant instrumentation, pumps, automated process control systems and processing equipment.
•Start up, operate and shut down manufacturing plant in accordance with operating procedures.
•Monitor process parameters and adjust plant settings to maintain product specifications.
•Conduct routine plant inspections and identify equipment faults or operational abnormalities.
•Complete production logs, operating reports and quality records.
•Support preventative maintenance activities to maximise plant reliability.
•Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, quality and HACCP standards.
•Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.
•Supervise the shift performance & conduct of team members to ensure consistent achievement of performance measures.
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
•Experience operating manufacturing, chemical processing, mineral processing or industrial process plant equipment.
•Experience working in a safety-focused manufacturing or production environment.
•Ability to monitor plant performance and follow standard operating procedures.
•Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping skills.
•Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
•Current driver's licence.
•Relevant plant operating licences or tickets such as Forklift, Loader, Excavator or Heavy Rigid Licence will be highly regarded.
•Certificate IV in Process Manufacturing, Certificate IV in Competitive Systems and Practices, or equivalent industry experience will be highly regarded
