Role Description This is a casual or part time, on-site Medical Receptionist role based at the Chatswood, NSW clinic.
The Medical
Receptionist will be responsible for greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, and maintaining a welcoming and professional front desk environment. Daily tasks include answering and directing phone calls, responding to patient enquiries, scheduling and confirming appointments, and coordinating bookings for consultations and diagnostic tests. The role also involves verifying and updating patient information, managing referral and report documentation, and supporting smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
The Medical
Receptionist will work closely with clinicians and clinical support staff to ensure accurate communication,
timely follow-up of patient needs, and adherence to privacy and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong front-of-house and Receptionist Duties skills, including greeting patients, managing a busy reception area, and handling enquiries professionally.
- Proficiency in Appointment Scheduling and coordination, with the ability to manage multiple diaries and adjust bookings efficiently.
- Effective Phone Etiquette skills, including clear communication, empathy, and professional call handling.
- Familiarity with Medical Terminology and processes to support accurate data entry, documentation, and communication with clinical staff.
- Experience working in a Medical Office or healthcare setting, including use of practice management or patient administration systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with a patient-centered approach and robust attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work calmly under pressure, and maintain confidentiality in line with privacy regulations.
- Previous experience as a medical or specialist receptionist and relevant administrative training or certification are highly regarded.
