We are now seeking a Mining Engineer (Drill and Blast) - Open Pit to join our Technical Services Team at our Leonora Operation, to support our brand-current Tower Hill operations. In the role you will support safe, efficient and cost-effective Drill and Blast operations through drill and blast designs, validation and operational support. Priority focus will be on Drill pattern design, Blast design and execution, compliance and reporting.

The Opportunity:

- Contribute to safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations
- Be familiar with and compliant to Management Plans for Tower Hill (BMP, Noise, Dust, Vibration, Heritage etc.)
- Prepare drill and blast pattern designs, tie-ins, load instructions and relevant notifications
- Review drill and blast results, validate QAQC and provide reconciliation and improvement recommendations
- Upload and manage drill pattern and blast designs and surfaces on machines
- Liaise with production, geology, and survey departments to ensure efficient execution of production plans
- Monitor fleet productivity and recommend improvements
- Collect operational data and prepare daily and weekly recon production reports

We're excited to hear from you if you have:

- Operational site based mining experience (ideally Gold) and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment
- Strong understanding of sensitive drilling and blasting requirements (vibration, noise etc.)
- Sound demonstrated experience in an Open Pit Mine Planning role.
- Technical expertise in relation to Open Pit mine design, drill and blast, optimisation and planning
- Expert user of Microsoft Office - Excel
- Proficient with computer scheduling software (Deswick, Surpac, Datamine etc.)
- ShotPLUS or similar blasting software
- Power BI reporting (Desirable)
