- Council is recruiting through two pathways: an entry-level opportunity with training provided and an experienced opportunity for someone ready to contribute immediately.

About the role: Council is seeking up to two Municipal Employees to join our Civil and Maintenance team. There are two pathways available:

- Grow Our Own pathway – Grade 4: For someone who may not have concrete skills or experience but is reliable, hardworking and willing to learn. Council will provide training and development to help you build your skills.
- Experienced pathway – Grade 6: For someone who already has the required concrete skills, experience and qualifications and can contribute immediately to Council’s concrete works program.

As a Municipal Employee, you will:
- Construct, repair and maintain footpaths, kerbing, water tables, driveways, pram ramps and other concrete infrastructure.
- Prepare work sites and undertake concrete pouring and finishing activities.
- Maintain and repair Council roads, paths and public areas.
- Operate plant, machinery, trucks and equipment where trained and authorised.
- Complete equipment checks and report maintenance or safety issues.
- Follow work plans and help the team complete work safely and efficiently.
- Communicate respectfully with team members and members of the community.
- Work outdoors and contribute to a safe and positive workplace.

The number of appointments made under each pathway will depend on the skills, experience, attitude and potential demonstrated by applicants.

About you:

For the Grow Our Own Grade 4 pathway, you will:

- Be reliable, hardworking and willing to undertake physical work outdoors.
- Have a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.
- Be able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.




- Take pride in completing work safely and to a high standard.
- Be willing to complete the required training and development.
- Hold a current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Hold a non-prohibited South Australian Working with Children Check, or be willing and able to obtain one before commencing.

For the Experienced Grade 6 pathway, you will:
- Have demonstrated experience in concrete construction, pouring and finishing.
- Have the practical skills and relevant requirements needed to work independently and contribute immediately.
- Be able to operate relevant plant and equipment safely, where trained and authorised.
- Be able to organise work, solve practical problems and support other team members.
- Applicants for the Experienced Grade 6 pathway must also hold a White Card and the mandatory plant and equipment licences listed in the Position Description. An MR Truck Licence is also required, however, applicants may be considered if they are willing and able to obtain this licence.
- Hold a non-prohibited South Australian Working with Children Check, or be willing and able to obtain one before commencing.

- Experienced pathway – Grade 6: commencing at $76,393 per annum.
