An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic Registered Nurses and Midwives to join our Nurse Pool at Northern Health. If you have more than 3 years of acute nursing and/or midwifery experience and hold current registration with AHPRA, you are encouraged to apply:
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

Why limit your practice to one ward, when our nurse pool offers dynamic,
multi-campus exposure designed for nurses who thrive on variety and continuous learning. Pool Nurses are utilised to backfill deficits throughout the organisation daily within their skill set and scope of practice.
Role requirements
- Commitment to a minimum of 48 hours fortnight (0.6EFT) or above.
- Applicants must not hold primary full time or part time employment with another organisation.
- Ability to commit to a rotating roster of AM/PM/ND inclusive of weekends.
- Ability to work across all our Northern Health Campuses within your skillset and scope of practice.
Essential criteria
- Current AHPRA Registration
- More than 3 years’ experience in Australian Hospitals’ setting since AHPRA registration
- Included in your current CV referees who must hold NUMs or ANUMs positions only.
- Excellent communication, clinical nursing skills and knowledge
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to excellent patient centred care
Note: Applicants not meeting the above criteria & looking for transition to nursing, refresher programs and casual bank employment will not be considered.
