About the Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join a well-established General Ward within a private Not for profit hospital in Adelaide's northern suburbs.
This is an exciting full-time, Monday to Friday leadership opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse Manager. Working closely with senior clinical leadership, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of an inpatient ward while providing strong clinical leadership and developing a high-performing nursing team.
You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while driving continuous improvement, workforce capability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible clinical leadership and day-to-day management of the inpatient ward
- Lead, mentor and develop nursing staff, including performance management and professional development
- Support workforce planning, rostering and resource management to ensure effective service delivery
- Promote a strong culture of patient safety, clinical excellence and continuous improvement
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and support accreditation and clinical governance requirements
- Work collaboratively with medical, allied health and broader multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor patient care outcomes and identify opportunities to improve the patient and staff experience
- Contribute to service planning, operational priorities and the ongoing development of the ward
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated nursing leadership or management experience within an acute hospital environment
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety
- Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing nursing teams
- Strong workforce planning and operational management capabilities
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and collaborative leadership style, with a genuine commitment to quality patient care
