4hc is partnering with an established multidisciplinary clinic in Caulfield looking for an Occupational Therapist to join its growing paediatric team.

Having personally visited the clinic and met the team, what stood out immediately was that neuro-affirming practice here isn't a buzzword. It is reflected in the environment, the clinical approach and the way the team talks about and works alongside neurodivergent children and their families.

The organisation itself describes its approach as neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based and collaborative, with a philosophy of listening to neurodivergent voices rather than approaching differences as deficits that need to be "fixed".

Only 4.5 billable hours per day A genuinely achievable clinical workload, giving you time to complete the other parts of your role properly.

Dedicated time for admin, learning and development

Time is built into the working week for reports, notes, professional development, mentoring and your own learning rather than expecting everything to happen around a full clinical diary.

Predominantly clinic-based

This is not one of those community OT roles where half your working day disappears behind the wheel. The immediate caseload is predominantly clinic-based paediatrics, with school visits generally kept very local.

A strong private caseload

Approximately 50% of the broader caseload is private/private health, with the remainder predominantly NDIS. You're not walking into a service entirely dependent on one funding stream.

Genuinely neuro-affirming practice

Work somewhere where neuro-affirming practice is embedded in the clinical philosophy, environment and team.



The clinic works from a strengths-based approach focused on participation, advocacy, regulation and supporting children to engage in everyday life.

Flexible working hours

Manage your own diary with flexibility around how you structure your day and your start and finish times.

Experienced OT support

You'll join an established OT team with senior clinicians available for supervision and mentoring. The intention is to create additional capacity specifically for clinical leadership, supervision and professional development.

Multidisciplinary without losing your OT identity

Work alongside Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Psychologists in a collaborative clinic environment. The existing team includes OTs with experience across paediatrics, sensory processing, self-regulation, assistive technology and home modifications.

Grow beyond paediatrics if you want to

There is enough paediatric demand to build a predominantly or entirely paediatric caseload. However, longer term there are opportunities to develop experience in areas such as assistive technology, home modifications, FCA and SIL/SDA work if those areas interest you.

The Role

You'll initially work predominantly with children and young people, supporting areas including:

- Sensory processing and regulation
- Emotional regulation
- Fine and gross motor development
- Self-care and everyday activities
- Attention, organisation and executive functioning




- Social participation and play
- School and kinder participation
- Working collaboratively with parents, educators and other clinicians

There is an existing referral base and waitlist, so you will have the opportunity to establish your caseload without needing to generate your own referrals. Most sessions are clinic-based, with some opportunities to work within nearby schools and kinders.

About You

We're open to OTs at different stages of their career, from graduates and early-career clinicians through to experienced paediatric OTs.

More significant is that you:

- Hold AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Have a genuine interest in paediatrics and neurodiversity-affirming practice
- Can demonstrate sound clinical reasoning
- Are curious, open to learning and receptive to supervision
- Enjoy collaborating with families and other clinicians
- Want to be an active member of a multidisciplinary team
- Have unrestricted Australian working rights

New graduates are encouraged to apply. There are experienced clinicians within the team and a clear intention to provide supervision, mentoring and career development.

Salary

$80,000-$130,000 + super, depending on experience.

The upper end is intended for genuinely experienced/senior clinicians, with salary tailored appropriately to career level.
