Aboutthe Role
Wenow have a fantastic chance for a passionate Urban ForestOfficer to conduct the maintenance, development andsustainability of the City of Cockburn's urban forest andstreetscape assets.
Reporting to the Urban ForestSupervisor, the role is responsible for undertaking treeassessments, identifying pruning and root managementrequirements, coordinating and monitoring contracted works, andcontributing to annual tree planting and maintenanceprograms.
The position plays animportant role in ensuring the City's tree assets are managedsafely and effectively, while delivering high levels ofcustomer service and engaging respectfully with residents,businesses, contractors and other stakeholders. The role alsocontributes to asset management, budget planning, complianceinspections,
contract administration and the ongoingdevelopment of the City's urban forest.
Aboutyou
You are anexperienced arboriculture or horticulture professional with apassion for urban greening and sustainable landscapes. You Bringstrong technical knowledge and practical experience in treeassessment, pruning, contractor management and urban forestmaintenance.
You are aconfident communicator who enjoys building positiverelationships with residents, contractors, businesses andcolleagues. With a strong customer service focus, you caneffectively respond to enquiries, provide technical advice andmanage competing priorities while delivering high-qualityoutcomes.
You areorganised, proactive and capable of working with limitedsupervision. Your attention to detail, commitment to safety andunderstanding of industry best practice will enable you tocontribute to the ongoing development and management of theCity of Cockburn's urban forest.
Besidesdemonstrated experience, you’ll need to have:
- Certificate III inArboriculture or Horticulture
- Welldeveloped organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of treeprocurement and seasonal planting needs
Salary andBenefits:
Starting from Level 5 Step 1 – Ste p 4 ($96,988 - $102,899)
of the Ci ty of CockburnIndustrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications andexperience.
