Our client is an established, multi-brand consumer business spanning retail, manufacturing and wholesale distribution, backed by a Melbourne based, mid-market private equity firm. Each brand runs its own finance team and prepares its own numbers.

This role sits at the centre of it, bringing those numbers together for the CEO and the board.

The Role

n

You bring together the Group's monthly close, consolidation, and reporting cycle.

n

- Own the Group's monthly close and consolidation, including the management accounts for a number of minor and non-trading entities
n
- Compile the monthly board pack across all brands
n
- Work with the CEO and brand CFOs to build the Group budget, and consolidate the monthly forecasts
n
- Maintain the consolidated cash flow forecast
n
- Manage tax compliance and statutory lodgements, and coordinate the annual audit
n
- Oversee the Group's cash position, process AP for the smaller entities, and approve payment files and fortnightly payroll
n
- Work directly with brand finance teams on cross entity issues

Who We're Looking For

n

You are someone who can hold complexity across a group and still bring it back to one explicit number.

n

n
- CA or CPA qualified
n
- Experience consolidating multi entity results
n
- Track record owning a fixed monthly close and reporting cycle
n
- Sound working knowledge of Australian tax compliance
n
- Experience managing an audit end to end
n
- Experience in a manufacturing business with inventory, standard costing and production reporting (preferred)
n

And the non-negotiables: you interrogate numbers prepared by others until they hold up, you work well with finance teams who do not report to you, and you keep reporting accurate under deadline pressure.
