Bridge IT Engineering is partnering with a major Federal Government client seeking multiple Senior Azure Java Stack Software Engineers (Developers) to support a mission-critical national intelligence platform.

n

About the Role

n

This is a senior, hands-on Full Stack Java Engineering opportunity focused on designing, developing, enhancing and supporting enterprise-scale applications and large data platforms.

n

Working within a highly technical delivery environment, you will contribute across backend services, APIs, integrations, distributed systems and modern web applications, with a strong backend focus. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, solution ownership and the opportunity to work on complex systems supporting national law enforcement and intelligence capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

n

Full Stack Java Development

n

n
- Design, develop, test, deploy and support secure, scalable and highly available Java applications.
n
- Develop backend services, APIs, microservices and enterprise integrations.
n
- Contribute across the full technology stack, with a particular focus on backend engineering.
n
- Take ownership of technical solutions from requirements through to deployment and production support.
n
- Design and implement scalable microservices, event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
n
- Develop solutions across enterprise data and integration platforms.
n
- Work with REST and GraphQL APIs, messaging platforms and high-volume data environments.
n




- Contribute to technical design and architecture across complex enterprise solutions.
n
- Work within a Microsoft Azure-hosted enterprise setting.
n
- Apply modern CI/CD, automated testing and DevSecOps practices.
n
- Support release and deployment automation.
n
- Work with containerisation, cloud-native technologies and Infrastructure as Code.
n
- Contribute to the reliability, security, resilience and maintainability of the platform.
n

Technical Leadership

n

- Provide technical guidance and leadership across projects and development teams.
n
- Mentor developers through coaching, code reviews and knowledge sharing.
n
- Guide technical and architectural decisions.
n
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and undertake root-cause analysis.
n
- Drive engineering standards, continuous improvement and technical capability uplift.
n

Security Requirements

Candidates must hold a current NV1 security clearance and will be required to successfully complete the client's Organisational Suitability Assessment prior to commencement.
