About the Role
Master Builders Victoria is seeking a Safety Advisor to support our members in creating safer workplaces. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career in workplace health and safety. Construction industry experience is not essential. We are looking for someone with a strong foundation in safety principles, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for helping businesses improve safety outcomes.
In this role you will:
- Provide practical workplace health and safety advice to employers
- Conduct workplace safety audits and prepare reports with practical recommendations
- Assist employers in understanding and meeting their safety obligations
- Liaise with regulators, industry stakeholders and internal teams
- Develop safety resources, training materials and member communications
- Monitor and communicate changes to workplace health and safety laws and industry developments
Skills, Attributes and Experience:
- A Diploma in Work Health and Safety or tertiary qualification in a related discipline
- A sound understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and risk management principles
- Experience in a workplace health and safety, compliance, advisory or auditing role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to build relationships and provide practical advice to a range of stakeholders
- A willingness to learn about the building and construction industry
Construction industry experience is desirable but not essential.
