Who we are

Hurstville Private Hospital is all about real people and extraordinary care. Hurstville Private Hospital (HPH) is an acute surgical facility comprising of 157 beds, owned and operated by Healthe Care. Located 16km southeast of Sydney’s CBD, we enjoy an employment of diverse culture mixes and backgrounds. HPH has 7 operating theatres, 2 Cardiac Catheter Laboratories, Intensive Care (ICU) and Coronary Care Units (CCU), Medical Unit, Surgical Unit and provides Maternity Services.

What we're looking for...

Our successful candidate will be able to provide exceptional customer services to our patients and have that special ability to place people at ease whilst being transported to different hospital departments. They'll take pride in the level of support they can offer Nursing Staff, visiting Doctors and all other areas of the hospital environment.



Our Operating Assistants/ Wardpersons facilitate effective teamwork whilst possessing the ability to work autonomously.

Essential Criteria

Exceptional collaborative Interpersonal, leadership and well-developed verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient centred care

Good computer skills and experience with computerised reporting systems

Commitment to Career development and a structured learning program for all staff

Knowledge and understanding of infection control principles

Understanding of manual handling principles

Desirable Criteria

Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Theatre Assistant or Wardsperson Experience and ability working and interacting with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
