EL Workforce is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established access hire equipment company based in Bayswater, to find an experienced and motivated Operations Manager. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will take ownership of the day-to-day operations, ensuring the business runs efficiently, the fleet is maintained to a high standard, and customers receive exceptional service.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will play a key role in keeping the business moving. You'll oversee the daily operation of the hire fleet while coordinating scheduling, maintenance, staff and customers.

Your responsibilities will include

- Managing the day-to-day operations of the access hire business
- Coordinating equipment deliveries, collections and scheduling
- Managing fleet maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs
- Ensuring equipment is available, compliant and ready for hire
- Managing and supporting the operations team
- Building strong relationships with customers and ensuring excellent customer service
- Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues efficiently
- Coordinating with drivers, technicians, suppliers and customers
- Improving operational processes, efficiency and fleet utilisation
- Monitoring equipment availability and turnaround times
- Ensuring safety and compliance standards are maintained




- Identifying opportunities to improve business performance and profitability

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is organised, commercially minded and customer-focused, with strong operational experience.

You'll ideally have

- Experience in operations, fleet management, equipment hire, plant hire, logistics or a similar industry
- Solid scheduling and organisational skills
- Experience overseeing fleet maintenance and servicing
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Previous experience managing or leading a team
- A hands-on approach and the ability to work in a quick-paced environment
- Commercial awareness and a focus on efficiency and profitability
- A current driver's licence
