- Interpret construction plans and estimate the costs and quantities of materials required.
n
- Manage and maintain essential project documents and records as part of the Integrated Management Systems.
n
- Plan and oversee construction methods and procedures, coordinating the supply of labor and materials.
n
- Supervise construction sites, directing subordinate team members and service providers, including subcontractors, to uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards.
n
- Foster a consultative approach to resolve Health, Safety, Workplace, and Quality (HSEQ) issues at the site.
n
- Stay informed about contract documents and negotiate with subcontractors as necessary.
n
- Prepare cost estimates and contract bid documentation, presenting these for review to the Project Manager.
n
- Consult with architects, engineers, and other technical personnel to ensure compliance with design requirements.
n
- Interpret regulations and codes of practice to guide projects in alignment with construction schedules.
n
- Calculate costs, revenue, and estimate completion times to prepare progress claims, extensions of time, and monthly reports.
n
- Develop detailed work programs for site activities and coordinate personnel accordingly.
n
- Manage and document variations from design drawings or specifications for client submission.
n
- Evaluate and manage subcontractors' claims by assessing completed work.
n
- Negotiate subcontractor agreements and report notable issues to Project Manager or contractors' representative.

About the Candidate

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our clients team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the planning, execution, and successful completion of civil engineering projects across highways/mining/defence and wastewater, ensuring safety, quality, and contractual compliance. - Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
n
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role on civil projects.
n
- Proven experience on both contractor side and client side in similar civil sectors.
n
- Documented history of managing engineering packages, budgets, timelines, and handling contractual variations.
n
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, site safety protocols, and risk management.
n
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, including subcontractor management, supplier quote reviews, and cost forecasting.
n
