Part-time Middle School Math & Science Teacher

Rainbow Ridge are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic middle school teacher who is committed to providing a creative and enriching learning environment as they support the classes 6, 7 and 8 with mathematics and science. Our ideal applicant will demonstrate a high level of expertise in meeting the needs of a diverse range of learners.

Rainbow Ridge School for Steiner Education is a small 110 student school located 10 km north of Nimbin, surrounded by extensive gardens and bushland. The local environment is a mixture of villages, small farms, alternative communities, and national parks – all in a beautiful subtropical setting.

Criteria for this position:

- Experience teaching high school Math and Physics, ideally within a Steiner/Waldorf School setting
- Steiner training necessary. There needs to be an interest in Rudolf Steiner’s philosophies in relation to pedagogy and a commitment to deepen that understanding.
- Ability and willingness to work in a supportive team with the College of Teachers, the Principal and throughout the school community.
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Commitment to the school’s curriculum and professional development
- Commitment to assessment and reporting following NESA’s guidelines.
- Eligibility for teacher registration in NSW
- Current Working With Children Check and First aid
