About the roleWe’re looking for an experienced paediatric physiotherapist to join Just for Kids as our Clinical Lead.

This is a genuine clinical leadership role combining your own paediatric caseload with protected time for mentoring, complex case support, clinical education, service development and leadership.

The role is approximately 60-70% clinical / 30-40% clinical leadership and service development, although this will flex depending on the needs of the team.

You’ll work closely with our Director, Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist and Practice Manager to support an established paediatric team and help shape where Just for Kids goes next.

What you’ll doYour role will include:

- Managing your own paediatric caseload within your areas of experience and interest
- Supervising and mentoring physiotherapists and physiotherapy aides
- Supporting clinicians with complex cases and clinical decision-making
- Providing joint consultations and co-treatment where appropriate
- Reviewing clinical reasoning and treatment plans
- Running case discussions, in-services and internal training
- Developing clinician learning and professional development plans
- Supporting onboarding and development of new clinicians
- Reviewing clinical pathways, service quality and consistency of care
- Working with the leadership team on staffing, service priorities and future growth
- Building relationships with paediatricians, GPs, allied health professionals and other referrers

Potential upcoming Clinical Lead projectsA key part of this role is having protected time to work on projects that improve the service beyond the patients you personally treat.

Potential upcoming projects may include:

- Further developing our Physiotherapy Aide service, including delegation, handover systems and aide training




- Exploring the viability of a satellite paediatric physiotherapy service alongside a trusted local paediatric medical team
- Reviewing and implementing an additional standardised gross motor assessment tool
- Investigating emerging clinical areas such as neuromuscular electrical stimulation
- Reviewing and updating clinical pathways and SOPs
- Developing targeted team upskilling and professional development programs
- Improving clinician onboarding and supervision systems
- Identifying new service opportunities and helping determine what we should develop next

These are examples rather than a fixed project list. We want the Clinical Lead to have genuine input into where their time and expertise can have the greatest impact. About youYou’ll be an excellent clinician first and foremost.

Ideally, you’ll have:

- 5+ years’ experience as a physiotherapist
- At least 2 years’ private practice paediatric physiotherapy experience
- Solid independent clinical reasoning and caseload management
- Current AHPRA registration
- Current Working With Children Check
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Unrestricted rights to work in Australia
- Experience mentoring or developing other clinicians
- Confidence giving and receiving feedback
- Experience navigating challenging conversations
- An interest in clinical education and service development

You may already be a Clinical Lead, Senior Physiotherapist or Clinical Manager. Or you may be an experienced paediatric physio who has naturally become the person colleagues turn to for advice, mentoring and problem-solving.

You do not need to have previously held a management title.
