Employment type – Temporary (until 30th June 2028), Full Time

Salary – Clerk Grade 11/12 - $149,739 - $173,174(plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)

Your role

The Aboriginal Principal Project Manager leads a project/program development team to develop, deliver, monitor and evaluate strategic projects, to achieve project outcomes, and support achievement of CSNSW organisational objectives to reduce the reoffending of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander offenders.

A central focus of the role is the development and implementation of throughcare initiatives involving co-design and community partnership. All project outcomes achieved will offer culturally responsive programs, wellbeing support, and pathways to training, employment, and holistic case management for offenders.

The position operates within a high-performing team that values innovation and accountability. It also supports broader system reform aligned with the Closing the Gap Priority Reforms, including shared decision-making, strengthening the community-controlled sector, transforming government practices, and improving access to data at the regional level.

What you’ll do

- Lead the development and delivery of strategic projects, identifying interdependencies and leveraging resources to maximise efficiencies and achieve required organisation outcomes. Specifically, the role will project manage the development, delivery and evaluation of an Aboriginal men’s program for users of domestic violence in partnership with an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) and in line with the CSNSW Program and Facilitation Standards, to achieve identified program outcomes and reduce re-offending. This will include managing the procurement processes for all three stages of the project outlined above.




- Lead and oversee all aspects of project development and implementation across a portfolio of complex projects, including preparing business cases and project plans, establishing appropriate governance, identifying, allocating and managing resources, and meeting reporting requirements, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and in line with the Agency project management methodology
- Develop and implement strategies and tools for the continuous monitoring and evaluation of projects, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, and project impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues and assess project progress and overall effectiveness
- Lead project team/s, including internal and external project staff, to deliver all key project/s milestones and outcomes
- Manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure stakeholders are engaged throughout the project and project deliverables are met
- Provide expert advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and present recommendations to support project delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other project priorities
- Oversee research and formulate recommendations to support evidence-based project planning and decision making

What we’re looking for

- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Current NSW driver's license and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role.
- Willingness to travel to all Community Corrections locations in the course of performing the role
- High level of experience in strategic and cutting-edge project management,



and superior understanding of project methodologies, processes and procedures.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based approaches to offender management and reducing re-offending.
- Understanding the issues facing Aboriginal offenders in the criminal justice system and knowledge of the services available from Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal organisations that address their needs
